EORI is acronym of Economic Operator Registration and Identification. This code, inserted by Regulation EC n.312/2009, is an identification number and it must be assigned to everyone economic worker who operate in the European Community and who must used for customs operations.
The cod permits eletronic tracking of customs activities and completion of import-export formality.
In Italy, EORI code is composed of prefix “IT”, followed by numbers of VAT for VAT taxpayers, by tax code for legal subjects or by first characters of tax code for natural persons.
How to request EORI code: he who emit it
EORI code must be used in the compilation of customs declarations and entry-exit brief declarations.
Italian people who make customs operations are automatically registered in the EORI database upon completion of first of these operations.
